Overview

This adventure combines cultural exploration with high-altitude trekking across Bhutan's northern regions. Beginning in Paro with an acclimatization hike to Tiger's Nest Monastery, travelers traverse landscapes from farmland to alpine pastures, culminating in encounters with the unique Layap people and natural hot springs in Gasa.

Paro

Acclimatization hike toward Tiger's Nest before the trek begins.

Day 3

Shana

Trek begins along the Paro Chhu valley.

Day 5

Jangothang

Jomolhari base camp.

Day 7

Lingshi

Reached via the high Nyile La Pass (4,890m).

Day 10

Laya

Home of the Layap people, Bhutan's northernmost community.

Day 14

Gasa

Descend to Gasa and its natural hot springs.

Day 16

Thimphu

Trek ends; drive out via Punakha and Dochula Pass.
