Not anymore — since Bhutan's September 2022 reopening, travelers can book flights, hotels, and permits independently rather than exclusively through an operator. The standard rate is US$100 per person, per night, for most nationalities. Indian nationals pay a reduced rate of Nu. 1,200 per night. Children aged 6–11 pay half the applicable rate, and children under 6 are exempt entirely.
